The Christmas season should be a time of good cheer for you and your family. Sadly all too often it is also the time for the burglar to strike. Statistics show this time of year as one of the highest for burglary crime. For the burglar it is a tempting opportunity, with valuable presents lying around. What’s more they know they are most likely to be under the tree in the main living room.

• Roads are free of traffic allowing a clear getaway.
• Police forces are depleted with leave being taken up.

This all spells “ Opportunity” to the burglar

Prevention is the key
It is common sense, but also a fact that the majority of burglars occur due to lack of security.
The best way to prevent a burglary is to “Deter ” the would be burglar. The No. 1 deterrent is a Burglar Alarm with an outside Siren with “Prowler Deterrent” flashing lights. Now is a good time to check doors and windows lock properly and keys are not kept anywhere that is visible from outside the house.

If you plan to be away from home for a few days, remember to cancel deliveries of milk and daily papers. Christmas Eve – although it may look festive, it’s also calling attention to the quantity and value of the gifts you have bought.
